Acid Rain

A silver chain that clings to my wrist,
A cold,
Cruel Way to spell out love.
It leaves scars upon my skin.

A dog finally obtained a master,
A bond was created.
Happiness dwells within the heart,
But fear lingers in the mind.

Young love,
Unfair and unjust.
Unreal and evanescent.
Killer.

The current pulls you in,
As alluring and as beautiful it may be,
The shining sea.
Betrayed by the riptide.

Like a drug,
Addictive and so tempting,
Kills you,
While you dwell in your happiness.

A crime,
You say you won't commit twice,
Only to end up,
Behind those silver bars again.

Over and over again,
Like a carousel,
Or a Ferris Wheel,
Spinning repetitively.

The acid rain,
Pouring upon that silver chain.
Viciously pulls me away.
Into the darkness without my heart.

Another love lost,
To the boredom of a short attention span.
Stupid am I,
To get up again.

This fabricated love,
So powerful,
Tempting,
Painful.

To gain it all,
To lose it all,
In the blink of an eye.
All to boredom.

It hides among us,
This fake love,
Snares us in its trap,
Eating us alive.
A poem about one of my biggest fears. This is a pathetic attempt at a love poem. Didn't turn out how I wanted.
